PRODUCT: NATURE TERRAIN GENERATOR

This is a new iClone tool that uses tiles with photogrammetric seamless textures, to create photorealistic terrains.

The pack provides:

- 1 x Tile master prop with 64x64 surface tessellation and embedded morphs.
- 1 x Tile master prop with 32x32 surface tessellation and embedded morphs.
- 40 x 4K resolution terrain iMaterials with three seamless variations for each texture. (120 iMaterials)
- 40 x 2K resolution terrain iMaterials with three seamless variations for each texture. (120 iMaterials)
- 6 x 4K resolution path iMaterials with three seamless variations for each texture. (18 iMaterials)
- 6 x 2K resolution path iMaterials with three seamless variations for each texture. (18 iMaterials)
- 1 x Python script to create and edit groups of tiles to create terrain areas.
- 20 x rock shapes
- 4 x bedrock shapes
- 2 x special shapes with morphs to create cliffs and grounds.

The textures have been created from real photographic images, obtaining a high level of realism. The displacement maps included in the iMaterials provide volume to the terrains while keeping a reasonable number of polygons in the scene.

Linked materials reduce graphic memory use, while two levels of tessellation and texture resolution allow you to choose the right option in each occasion. (64x64 and 4K) for close ups, (32x32 and 2K) for large terrains that don't require close camera views. Both groups can be combined in the same project.

The Python script allows to create and expand groups of tiles, automatically assigning texture variations of the selected material in order to avoid pattern repetitions. Then you can edit the topology of the groups, creating slopes and variations in the shape of the tiles thanks to their embedded morphs controlled by sliders in the script.

Install the Content pack:
1. Download and install the Terrain content from the Smart Gallery.
2. Kindly install the content to your default template folder. The current Python Plugin doesn't support custom folder installation.

Install the Python Plugin:
1. Download the plugin installer (.exe file) from your Order History, and execute the installation. It will automatically install the plug-in to your iClone Python folder.

iClone 8 compatible. For purchased users, please download the terrain content from iClone 8 Smart Content Manager, and download the plug-in for iClone 8 from your Account - Order History.

Low polygon rock shapes allow you to create complex combinations using few computer resources.

Their optimized UV maps in one single island allow multiple UV variations and permit to work with different tessellation multipliers without breaking the meshes.

The seamless textures can be applied to other props in addition to the ones provided by the pack. However, to use the displacement maps the UV maps of those props have to be properly set and their meshes have to have enough surfaces to avoid breakings.

The tiled groups can be converted into iClone terrains with physic properties working in both PhysX and bullet engines, so the iClone interactive vehicles can be driven over these terrains.

NOTE: At the moment, if you plan to use iClone waters in combination with this pack, then remember to uncheck the "2 Sided" feature in the materials to ensure a correct reflection in the water.
