Description
Before writing a Prose Fiction essay for the AP Literature & Composition Exam, you must first know how to read the rubric, prompt, and passage in the context of literary devices. Writing with confidence begins with knowing what is expected from your essay and then thinking correctly on how to construct an essay with an impactful argument. This is a preparation course to understand the mental viewpoint required to earn a passing score on the essay portion of the exam. My specialty is increasing writing confidence in ELL/ESL students who feel they struggle with writing at a collegiate level. I view my writing strategies more as viewpoints since my focus is on developing how you understand the writing assignment. Earning a score of 3 or higher for the Prose Fiction essay in the timed AP Literature & Composition Exam starts at the beginning with how you view and understand the prompt and passage. Next is how you examine, apply, and explain the literary elements or literary devices within the context of the given passage. This course establishes the writer's mind for writing a complete essay in a timed setting of 45 minutes. It is possible to analyze a passage in 5 minutes, write or type a draft essay in 30 minutes, and revise and edit the essay in 10 minutes three times during the AP Literature & Composition Exam.
