The Cisco Networking Foundations series of courses provides the information network administrators and IT pros need to know to support and maintain Cisco networks. In this course, instructor Kevin Wallace focuses on switching and routing. Kevin goes over ethernet switching, including topics like ethernet frame format, VLAN theory and configuration, trunking theory and configuration, and more. He explains the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) in depth, then goes over EtherChannel theory and configuration. Kevin covers IP routing with topics like packet flow, static and default routes, routing protocol selection and categories, and Routing Information Protocol (RIP) theory. Plus, he walks you through configuring RIPv2 and RIPng.
Kevin Wallace is a double Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE No. 7945).
Kevin has earned multiple Cisco expert, professional, and associate-level certifications in the Route/Switch, Collaboration, Security, Design, and Data Center tracks. With Cisco experience dating back to 1989, Kevin has been a network design specialist for the Walt Disney World Resort, an instructor of Cisco courses for Cisco Learning Partners (CLPs), and a network manager for Eastern Kentucky University. Currently, Kevin owns and operates Kevin Wallace Training, LLC, a provider of self-paced training materials that simplify computer networking. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kentucky, and he lives in central Kentucky.
