Description
Planning and pricing a large, custom website can be overwhelming if you don't know how to it properly.

Estimating a custom designed and developed website is a science. Unlike a flat-rate project where you fill-in-the-blanks and use a template, a custom from-scratch website can be incredibly stressful (and risky) to estimate.
Having spent years estimating work that normally ended up costing my agency money, I realized that before I could accurately quote the job I had to know EXACTLY what my client was looking for before I could go into the contract with peace of mind.
If you're a freelancer or a web agency owner who struggles with how to price custom, large website projects and managing client expectations I am here to help you stop the confusion once and for all.
The 3 reasons why most website projects end in budget overruns & disappointment
#1 - The client has no game plan
You client needs to have a crystal clear game plan mapping out what they and their team want the site to look like and what they want it to do. Without a plan, it will be impossible for any team or freelancer to properly quote the project in terms of how much it will cost and how long it will take.
If they don't know exactly what they want, how can they expect someone else to be able to quote the job realistically (without just randomly guessing) We're web people - not mind readers.
#2 - They hire the wrong person
Many clients do not have a tech background or or understand the website creation experience. They're not sure what to look for when hiring someone to redesign or rebuild the website.
It's crucial that they understand the skills needed for their project BEFORE you start interviewing so that they don't waste talking to (or hiring) the wrong people. Let your client figure out who they need before you spend a lot of on intake only to find that you don't have the skills (or interest) in their project.
#3 - Expectations are not clearly managed
It's a very frustrating feeling when you take on a project and there is miscommunication with your client about what is and what isn't included in the scope of work. Arguing about price once the job has begun is a nightmare and a recipe for a bad review. So many problems that come up during the course of building a website are completely preventable if the web team / freelancer and the client were able to put in writing exactly what needed to be done by who and by when. Missed expectations can usually be traced back to failed communication. When goals and expectations aren't clearly communicated (you may not even be clear on them yourself) it gets -consuming, aggravating, and expensive fast.
Let's fix all of this...
I had no idea what I was doing...
For my first two years as the "accidental" founder of a website agency, I was constantly stressed out. I lost THOUSANDS of dollars of my own money on my website projects that I failed to plan properly. I was a no-tech person and had no idea how the website-creation-process was supposed to go to achieve the results I wanted.
I had no idea which questions to ask when taking to leads that would really help me dial-in a precise scope of work.
After I did get a client, I had no idea how to document exactly what our agreed upon scope of work was. More often than not during the job they would come back chag the labor requirement and I would just do it for free because I didn't want to deal with the hassle and grief that went with asking for more money from my client.
Results I was working in a bar and almost bankrupted my agency.
Now you can learn from my mistakes...
If we haven't met yet, my name is Natasha and I am the founder of On Purpose Projects - a full service web team from Vancouver, Canada.
For years I struggled to run websites projects properly. Finally, I'd had enough and (after losing tens of thousands of my own money on a clients' website projects) I stopped and took the to figure out exactly what was required to plan out a large, custom project and then estimate it so that it would work for both me and my client.
I am here to teach you step-by-step how we removed all the guesswork from the website planning and pricing process. This will save you tons of , money and headache both now and in the long run.
I know it works because my team and I use this exact process internally every day and run a multi-six figure custom web design and development agency with countless rave reviews from our clients.
Can't wait to see you in the course!
