In this course, I will discuss one of the most complicated and important parts of the fire protection systems i.e., Fire Pump. Where installed, fire pumps are the heart of the fire protection systems, it ensures that the water or foam-water solutions coming from the sprinklers, nozzles, or hose lines would have sufficient pressure and flow rates. This course will cover the fundamental of fire pumps and installation requirements for a safe and reliable operation of a fire pump.

This course will provide you with a basic understanding of the fire pump and its components and also the design requirements defined in NFPA 20. This course explains the scientific understanding of provisions provided in the codes and standards.

By the end of this course, you should be able to understand fire pumps, and when and where they are needed. And which driver is applicable in what condition and many others.

You will have more confidence in your next design, commissioning, or installation work. If you are preparing for certification exams, it will recall your knowledge and help you to understand the basic concepts of fire pumps. University students can learn the current practices in the fire protection industry, this course will be definitely very much beneficial for the students looking for jobs in the fire protection industry.
